LOCAL FOOD PROJECTS

South Andros High School is unlike any other in the Bahamas.

South Andros hosts a small farm, which they use to grow crops. Led by a group of students, this plot produces food for the entire community.

The aquaponics system is new to the South Andros High School. It is one of few, incorporates a 200 gallon tank, a 50 foot plant bed, and state of the art water clearifiers and biofilters. 

The hydroponics system at South Andros High School is one of the most progressive and unique in all of the Bahamas. Closely monitored by the students, it serves as a sustainable learning service and a food source.

The infrastructre for poultry in South Andros High School is built. Equipped with a new 800 hen coop, an incubation system, and a ferver to fill them, much growth is expected in the future.
