At its most pragmatic level, the aim of the program is to equip students with the skills necessary for success in college and in life. At its most idealistic, the aim is to encourage intellectual curiosity and the love of learning. At every level the teachers never lose sight of the formation of character. The curriculum puts its faith in the civilizing effects of the humanities and of the arts and in the power of the scientific method. Teachers put their faith in their students and in their disciplines, believing in the potential of the students and in the importance of the subjects taught.
